16 Year Olds Can Give Blood Now
16 year old can now give blood now. The old minimum age was 17 years of age for a person to give a single donation. Now with a signed prenatal consent form any 16 year old who weighs a minimum of 110 pounds can donate.
Double Donation requirements have changed you may now be eligible
Double Donation-
All Double donors must:
Be 17 years or older
And have not donated blood in the past 112 days
Males must
Weigh 135 pounds minimum
And Have a minimum Height of 5'1"
Female
Weigh 150 pounds minimum
And have a minimum Height of 5'5"
Cant give Blood? You can still make a difference
BLOOD DRIVE VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Sign Holder
- Will safely use signs to help bring in more donors (Like you would do at a car wash)
GREETER
-Opens the doors for the Donors upon arrival -Welcomes blood donors to the drive
-Opens the doors for Donors as they leave and thanks them for coming
REGISTRATION

-Explains registration form to blood donor-Controls access to blood drive site; only donors and volunteers are allowed in drive

-Prepares and sets table for donors-Restocks refreshments on the table-Serves refreshments to donors-Monitors donors for reactions
UNLOADERS/ RELOADERS
(must be able to lift 50 pounds)-Must be available when Red Cross truck arrives (2 hours before drive starts) -Must clear room of extra furniture, etc-Help unload truck and set up blood drive according to mobile driver
-Helps break down and reload truck at the end of drive
-(Must be able to stay 1.5 hours after drive)
